The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration has levied more than $12,000 in fines against Czoer Construction and Remodeling in Haubstadt, Ind., for violating fall-protection and other workplace safety standards at a residential job site. A spring inspection found that the company’s employees were working on a pitched roof 10 to 15 feet high and on a 15-foot-high ladder scaffold with no fall protection; employees were not wearing hard hats; ladders were placed too close to electrical power lines; and other issues. James Czoer, owner of the firm, said he might challenge the citations.
