Green roofs catching on with residential property owners

Green roofs are increasingly being installed on residential properties because of their ecological and aesthetic benefits, as well as their capacity to lengthen a roof’s life span. The demand for living roofs rose 115% in 2011, according to the nonprofit Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.
