Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac need further reform, economists say

Without significant congressional reform, Freddie Mae and Freddy Mac will continue to suffer under the weight of bad loans, economists say. “Continuing to use Fannie and Freddie to stimulate housing is not feasible,” said Brian Levitt, economist with OppenheimerFunds in New York.
