Developer offers zero-energy homes in California active adult communities

A developer is offering homes in two California active adult communities advertised as having no energy bills. The deal depends on state solar rebates for builders, so the homes will be available for a limited time only. The homes offer solar power, energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air-conditioning HVAC systems, along with sealed ducts, digital programmable thermostats, insulated garage doors, and occupancy sensor technology.
