Solar Homes Tour Held
The National Tour of Solar Homes was held October 16, 1999 in 36 states from Alabama to Wisconsin.
Solar homeowners opened their doors so visitors could see first-hand the practical uses of renewable energy. Far from being fantasy homes of the future, these homes include solar space heating, daylighting, solar electricity, solar water heating, energy efficiency and more. The American Solar Energy Society sponsored the event, which was co-sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, BP Solarex, AsrtoPower, Interstate Renewable Energy Council, Home Power Magazine, Utility PhotoVoltaic Group and Innovative Design.
