Base Price: $155,000

April 30, 2002

Denver builder Pat Hamill opened this 1,523-square-foot Brockton model at Oakwood Homes’ Kessler Walk community in January 2001. It was then base-priced at $149,000. The smallest and lowest-priced plan, Brockton has 32 of 78 sales recorded in the community. The project ranges up to 1,752 square feet, base-priced at $166,000. Options and upgrades add $5,000 to $9,000 on most sales. The secret to the low prices: Homes are built at a density of 5.11 units per acre. And yes, that is a concrete tile roof.
