Newsweek, Chicago Tribune look at Green

Green continues to get plenty of coverage in the consumer media. Newsweek has a big section this week as part of its ongoing "Project Green" coverage, hitting on the idea that green homes are "red hot."
My local paper, the Chicago Tribune, also front-paged green in this week's Real Estate section. They reported on the NAHB study that was released at IBS, along with a Better Homes & Garden study that was also presented in Orlando.
That study, along with everything else we're seeing, still seems to indicate most consumers haven't gotten past energy efficiency. It's thinking like that which makes a lot of people think this is a fad. If somehow energy prices were to come down, green would disappear like it did after the energy crises of the '70s. People like to pay lip-service to the idea of being green, but in the end for most it's all about how it helps them.
