Just to recap: This week I'm posting the "Alternate Influentials," to go with our February cover story. (Read my first blog about it here. Read about the first Alternate here, the second here, the third here and No. 4 here.)
In 1925, Ford introduced the first factory-assembled pickup truck, a staple of the remodeling industry. Besides that, as the first mass-producer of automobiles, his company helped to make possible the modern suburb.
Why he didn't make the list:Although Ford's impact is undeniable, he just wasn't one of the 10 most influential. Like Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, a top 20 list probably would have included him.

As a loyal reader, I must say your "Alternate Influentials" series rocks. Nicely done, my friend.
