Here's something you need to know about: Everycontractor.com, an online lead generation site, is calling around to contractors posing as customers to get people to sign up for the site. (h/t to Ed Cholfin of Advanced Kitchens who posted about this on LinkedIn)

Apparently, the way it works is they tell you they need a kitchen, bathroom, etc., remodeled, then once they get you on the phone try to sell you on their referral service. They'll come on your caller ID as 888-326-0653.

I can't speak to the quality of their service, but pulling these kind of tactics to get people to sign up tells me this isn't a company you want to be involved with.

Here are a few remodelers talking about their experiences with the company:

You can find more with a simple Google search.

You know what - this REALLY gives me goose bumps. I have a recorded message saved from Jose Luna offering to sale me "tons of leads" of customers wanting work done on their homes. Now this comes out and it has a familiar air to it. I need to do a little more research.

they call you because their business model only allows them to call you if they have a need in that area. Company has been in business for 11 years and has approximately 44,000 customers. 150 complaints doesn''t sound too bad afterall!!!!

We were listed with these guys for 100.00 for the year. We received 7 leads, all of them were bogus - one was for a friend of my father''s, who had never heard of them, and had no plans for remodeling his home. As I thought about it, they are all hard sell - as bad as used car salesmen. Anything that you have to work that hard to sell has got to be crap. I took our company off their service after 2 months. After all, it was only 100.00.

i use everycontractor! I needed work, I wasnt doing too good! everycontractor called me one day with a job already in hand;with a description. they promised to call me, or email me, and i was gonna get work for the yr.
I paid a one time fee for a yr. and they sent me a desription of a homeowner,an what they wanted done. i met with the homeowner. got the job done. an then a second one! thank you. So, I guess it depends on the person like myself. If you have trust or not. Because if i wasn't happy I'd get a full refund. But it don't matter cause I made my money back & extra.

The two people on here that said they are "employees" of this scam. Your attitutes portray arrogance and emulate a most negative air of the company you represent. Your tones prove the complaints some have about your company. Your comapny should fire you for the unprofessioanl responses you made (which are out of protocol) because it ultimately reflects upon the company (not the individual). A company provides a service (scam or not) and unsatisfied customers have the right to complain - but never does an employee have the right to berate a customer - irregardless. To me you prove this company is unworthy of providing a service for my company.

Every good thing on here is written by you or your company. How is th especial investigation going with the NV. Department of Consumer Affairs? Oh, and lt''s not forget about your D- Rating with the BBB, My Company has a A+. I guess the attorney general is contacting you as well. I looked all of your name servers and have the info on you for these people to sue you personally. This would be fun. Remember me, you called me a F@cking #sshole when you thought you hung up the phone, you stated "who the f*ck put this &ssole through, what the f$ck do I have to do to get some decent help around here", well you said it all, Mr. guttermouth. It seems like I got my money back, all $3499.00 of it more than one year later. Here is a fact, if you do not sign a contract with your signature with all the promises and gaurentees, then all of these people can go back to there credit card companies and demand the same I did. All they have to do is document the good faith they maid in contacting everycontractor to get their refund. Guess what, I told you I was going to do everything I could to shut you down, all these little things pile up.

That recorded agreement means nothing unless the full agreement is recorded, including all terms and conditions. For example: we will assign an executive account rep. to call and prequalify your leads and set he appointment for you ( that was the first hook), we have a state of the art website that you can communicate through24/7 (nnnnnnnnggghhhh wrong answer bob, the website does not work and then they say you did not respond in time), and my all time favorite, we''ll call you back!! I have been talking back and forth with a sales rep from this service.

He initially identified himself as someone from the "City of Agoura" who had some work for me, same catch line I''''''''ve been hearing everyone talk about.

I''''''''m very glad I decided to check this company out before going further.

Regardless of how you feel about the BBB, a "D-" rating speaks pretty loudly.

Our company recently signed up with EveryContractor.com. We have one lead that wasn't even related to the type of business we do. 2 months later, we have yet to receive a lead. Then they had the nerve to call and ask us to move to a premium package that promised more leads. What? More leads than 0?We didn't do it. Im reading awful things of this company and seriously considering getting my refund via Credit Card Company. I would not recommend them to NOBODY!

on June 6th of 2008 I was contacted by a guy that asked me if I could take some counter top jobs because he had so much work that he was turning away work left and right. After much conversation with this person he told me that he was a representative for Every Contractor and I would have to pay a $1000 fee for the referrals he was talking about. I told him that I would not pay because I have never had to in the ten years that I have been in business for myself. He than handed me off to a manager who continued to claim that they had so much counter top work in my area that I would make my investment back in no time at all. He said I would have work from them in the first week with them and that he could offer me a discount of $500 because I was a first time customer. He assured me that I would get a minimum of 12 bonafide leads in the year or I would get my money back. So I finally agreed to try it as it seemed they were serious about referring me to real jobs. Well after a year and one lead that did not even qualify as a good lead they tell me that I will not be getting my money back because I did not update my profile on time. I called at least two or three times a month to find out what else I could do to get some leads. I never had anyone tell me anything except we have twelve months to deliver on our promise to you. This company is a BIG JOKE!!! I am going to file a complaint with the attorney generals office, contact my credit card company and try to get my money back and I will do everything I can to tell as many people as I can to avoid any business with this fraud of a company!

Well, I feel, most of the comments above are rather amateur. (read, childish)

If you are in business, you pay for what you get - mostly.

I got a call from EveryContractor.com they had a roofing lead, it would cost me $99.00 for a year including the lead. I thought what the hell. I gave them the lead money.

The lead was for an apartment complex about 40 miles away. We contacted the owner, he returned the call. Very professional (He was a developer/architect) the buildings were over 500 square. There were a lot of companies that EC called for the job. Dozens.

While we were there, there were 3 other companies trying to measure the roof. Well, we won the bid. The Job was over $130,000. The roof was not cut up so it was mostly a straight shot with some repairs needed. If anyone doubts what I say I will send you the pics of the job, approximately 350 of them. The project (the apt complex) people were happy with the job and we left with a good reference in our pocket and a few dollars to boot.

Later, EC called me and ask me if I would get on their premium program. The salesman is very motivated to put us into this program. At our company,we have been discussing the pros and the cons of the EC company. Even if we sent them the money they want for their premium program, we are still money ahead. You have to go for the business to do business.

We tried the Bob Vila program and several others, mostly they give us leads from across the state (some are 3 to 4 hours drive) Not really what we need. We also spend a great deal of money on the Yellow pages, etc. etc etc. If you do not spend you do not get. Some programs work some do not. Maybe in some areas some lead programs do better than others.

As far as I can tell, the main difference between our company and most of these other people and companies on this webpage is. We give our names and our Website, most of the people that complain do not leave their names or contact info. Not much credibility as far as I am concerned.

All in all, I do not think - they are as good as they say they are, and they are not as bad as some on this site would have you believe they are.

JB - Even the sun will shine on a dogs arse every now and then - the comment that you may have had a good report for this company can not and does not debunk the (literally hundreds) of complaints that most everyone has on them. There are 4 different hate sites for this company and there are well over 100 bbb complaints. Coming on here and poking or calling people names lacks as much character as those that work for the company and have done the same thing. Let me ask you a question - where on the coast of South Carolina is your company based on the number you have i would say Hilton Head? Your website is very vague and I find no information about your company through the BBB nor the State liscensing board. Being a business owner myself I can agree that you have to spend money to make money, that is common sense. But as for me, I would choose not to use this company because they have a 95% + complaint rate. In this case saving ones money verses spending it foolishly is the better practice. I hope you prosperity, but coming here calling people on this blog immature, childish and even "amateur" makes me wonder if you are really a employee of EC - i mean your website url is new and freshly created and the BBB does not recognize your name (at least the Coastal area BBB (and that is where your phone number traces to - Hilton Head). Forgive me for being suspicious - but there have already been three known users to come on this blog that work FOR EC and posted as satisfied customers. <shrug>

Wow, I wish I had seen this prior to signing on back in Nov. 08. Since then they have provided 2 viable leads both returned zero work. I had them move us to prefered status which was no different only costs us more money for nothing. None of what I was told ever took place, I have never heard from them like I was told how "You will be working very closely with one of our account reps to manage the flow of leads", pure bullshit. And to all the bloggers saying people aren't following the system, well we follow it and it is just a waste of time. Wishing this hell to end and hoping they refund me as promissed. A pipe dream I am sure.

But with my skeptism on the whole program I didn't allow any other transactions on my credit card. Then one of there representatives threatened me with my credit card #'s, from my previous transaction stating he has my #s, and could withdrawal from my account if he wanted to screw me over anytime. I didn't appreciate him threatening me, or having access to my account. Buy the way since april, I have received 7 leads out of my twelve, only one looked like one possibility. Turned out to be nothing. Since my last arguement with the one ignorant rep., I haven't heard anything from them. Thank God!!! p.s. If anyone can help me get my money back it would be appreciated. I paid everycontractor.com $2,500. I was dealing with a rep named Erica Roth. She seemed nice at first, but when I told her I needed more time to think about it since that was a lot of money, she became very high pressure. She had a hard time breathing when she would talk, so my guess is she''s extremely overweight. Next she put me on the phone with another lady named Rose Zuniga. Rose was very rough around the edges with a heavy hispanic accent. She sounded very uneducated, but she guarnteed me my money back if I did not recieve jobs in the 1st month. It''s now been 3 months and they won''t return my call. Stay away from these con artists. Especially Rose Zuniga and Erica Roth. They think they can pimp small business owners. Both of these women clearly have no soul!
