CertainTeed and ARXX Team Up

Here’s one hot off the wire. It seems CertainTeed Corporation has bought up part of manufacturer ARXX to develop and market ARXX’s Apex Block naturally-insulating cement-foam building material. CT will sell Apex under the CT banner.
The terms of the deal were not made public as of blogtime. Unlike the good Senator from Alaska, I doubt paper bags and smoky rooms were involved—just smart business.
Used for both above- and below-grade walls, the Apex Block ICF is made from recycled EPS plastic and cement. The blocks form a strong skeletal post-and-beam structure with reinforced concrete and are capable of multi-story construction.
