Pultrim and Tecton Architectural Trim

Here’s something you don’t see every day: Pulte Homes, who developed their own integrated exterior home trim system, has decided to partner with their manufacturer, Tecton Products, and licensed the rights to market and sell their product, Pultrim, outside of Pulte communities. It’s a symbiotic relationship that looks like its garnering some serious fruit.
Pultrim is designed to replicate detailed wood and aluminum exterior trim and gutters. According to the manufacturer, the material properties of the fiberglass pultrusion and the Tecton-patented Durion acrylic coating contribute to a low maintenance system that looks crisp and beautiful for years. And, unlike many siding products, you can paint it.
The product line is sold by Tecton as Tecton Architectural Trim and is available through a network of distributors. “We are seeking to grow this product line by matching the product’s inherent advantages with distributors who are looking to offer their customers a trim system with added value, appeal and convenience,” says David Skaare, Director of Marketing and Sales at Tecton. “When you drive through a neighborhood built with Pultrim, you know that something is different. The detail of our trim and gutter profiles emphasizes the character of the home,” adds Skaare.

I would like to add a quick comment. I'm a big fan of Pulte Homes, but not a fan of the Pultrim. Take a drive through any Pultrim site in Michigan, Riverside (holly), Creek side South,Creekside East(Yipsi), The Retreat (Macomb), or Bridgewater DELWebb (Flat Rock). When you drive through those sites, take a look at the fading colors on the Pultrim that has been installed for about 3-4 years ago. Not to mention the level gutters that hold water and then freeze in the winter. As the ice backs up into the fascia, and then melts in the attic, you now have rotted tails. So my question is, How can Pulte tell future Homeowners that Pultrim is maintenance free, when actually it becomes a fate of disaster. Their is nothing wrong with soffit and Fascia. Lets keep Michigan proud with Pulte Homes as #1 in quality homes, not in lawsuits.
