I saw some great new products at the show. I’m actually waiting on the FedEx package filled with all the press kits I picked up at the show. But in the meantime, let’s talk about two of ‘em.
Intergis, a mobile resource management and logistics technology maker, introduced the Kuva, a configurable wireless asset tracking device. It enables companies to track your heavy equipment, vehicles, loads and cargo shipments using GPS/GSM system technology. It transmits at pre-programmed intervals and can be set to record movement, no movement, or simply when being polled. It’s encased in water-resistant molded-plastic and is small enough to be easily hidden on materials to limit detection and feature a fully self-contained, battery powered unit that may last up to 2-1/2 years before recharging (depending on reporting frequency). And, secondly, I’ll let the company do the talking via YouTube. This comes courtesy of Nick Eber, Senior Account Executive at IMRE communications for Fiberon. If you keep following the other videos on the YouTube site, you’ll find the company’s stain test, as well videos of the new Enclave Fencing.
Here’s the booth at IBS…so, if you didn’t get to Las Vegas, you can see what I saw:
Woodworker's Journal also did a great clip for Craftsman. Check it out:

A great new product we are using at Dominick Tringali Architects www.dtarchitects.com is the cent-a-meter. We recently installed it on a LEED Certified Habitat for HUmanity House we designed. It allows the homeowner/occupants to become more educated about their energy consumption and the cost implications of their choices. We are now installing them on our custom homes as well. Check it out by google''in "centameter."
