DiggersList.com: A Craigslist for Builders and Contractors

Anyone involved in the construction industry can use the service. Like Craigslist, there are no qualifying criteria (and no solicitations for prostitutes!). Browse through the listings—you’ll notice that the service allows users to buy, sell or trade excess materials and supplies, submit or respond to project bids, and search for jobs. I’ll stop short of saying the service has EVERYTHING there is to offer, but contractors can pick up construction-related materials and supplies from tile, HVAC systems to roofing materials that were excess from construction projects or being discounted and blown out from suppliers. The site features more than 100 subcategories for items for sale, projects and services. Towards the bottom of the site’s main page is a section where contractors and service providers can post their experience and feature photos of completed jobs and customer testimonials.
Users can embed the DiggersList widget on their own website to showcase the latest material they have put up for sale. The company’s press release alerted me to the fact that non-profits like Habitat for Humanity affiliates are already using the widget: check out http://shophabitat.org/shophabitat.
Give it a shot. Let me know what you think in the comments section below. I’m very curious to see how the market will respond to this. You never know—maybe you’ll score a great deal.

This site is great! I actually used it to find a plumber in Vegas. I needed to move a water softener from one house to another so I posted the job one night and in the morning I had four responses. I chose the best plumber and got the job done! Then I posted a great review on his company profile! What a great idea! And it was free!

I haven't used this site for anything yet, but I think it's an awesome idea. Never thought of looking for a handyman on here, but that's actually a great way I CAN utilize this website. When are you coming to Denver? We could use some snow plowing!

I've been using DiggersList for about 6 months and it's been very useful to sell my excess and to pick up random items I need. I like to check out what's posted, too. Kind of a swap meet for contractors.

I was an "early in" advertiser with DiggersList. We have really enjoyed the recent spike in contractor business that our exposure on this contractors portal has given us. What a great innovation in the building industry.
