Hobbies: Watching Notre Dame football and woodworking. Has begun the restoration of a wood/canvas and a cedar strip canoe, including a 1940 Old Town.
Favorite vacation spot: Takes an annual trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota or Quetico.  “Not very many places in the continental United States where you can still drink the water straight out of the lakes and a bald eagle is a common sight.”

SECRET LIFE
“As  much as I love to spend time with family and friends, I don’t really mind being alone.  I spent 9 days on a solo wilderness trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area where I only encountered a handful of people.”
