Jim Thomason, Architect

Project Name: Private residence
Location: Tulsa, Okla.
Designer/Architect: Jim Thomason
Builder: Jim Thomason
Square Footage: 2,850
Price: $270,000

The architect/owner of this custom home developed a distinctive design that overcame the difficult topographical challenges of an infill site in a developed neighborhood. The exterior features a steep hip roof, dormers, and brick and lap siding that harmonizes with the surroundings. The positioning of living spaces within the home was considered carefully to maximize the view potential of the location at the end of a developed street while still maintaining privacy. The home features an open floor plan anchored by a two-story living room. The interior architecture of the dormers contributes visual interest in the living room. French doors in the second-floor master retreat open out to a balcony that overlooks the main floor. Flex space in the plan can be used as in-law or guest quarters.
