Architectural authenticity is the focus of this custom residence on 3 acres overlooking a golf course. Research of historic structures and indigenous materials resulted in "an overall design reminiscent of Texas ranches, German immigrant craftsmanship and Spanish flair," says architect and builder Luis Jauregui, who was commissioned to "bring out the flavor of Texas." The four-bedroom house blends into its environment with scarcely a seam between the rustic interior and myriad outdoor terraces, waterscapes and a courtyard. Instead of formal living spaces, a large great room serves as the center of informal entertaining, connected to the kitchen, dining room and the great outdoors.
