As the first housing to be constructed in its economically depressed neighborhood in 20 years, Marbrisa Walk is a 50-home infill project that provides homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. The project uses existing infrastructure and services, resulting in commuter-friendly housing that has significantly contributed to the revitalization of the area. Twenty-six of the homes were set aside for low- and moderate-income first-time home buyers. Qualifying buyers are offered further assistance with financing through commission-sponsored programs. The single-family homes are designed to blend into the surrounding neighborhood, which consists of older bungalow homes. Plan 1 features an open floor plan that visually combines the space of the living room, dining rooms and kitchen, making the living space appear much larger.
