Designed for the 2002 Charlotte Homearama, this luxury residence is designed as a true Southern home. Its design was based on the developer's desire to create a neighborhood reminiscent of the era when friends and family joined each other on front porches to visit. This two-story charmer features a wraparound veranda on both floors. Designed for a family with young children, the home features a main-floor master suite and three bedrooms and a playroom upstairs. Well-suited to the way a family lives today, the home features formal rooms at the front accented by authentic detailing. These include the formal dining room, the study and the master suite. The central location of the kitchen simplifies service to the dining room when entertaining but also allows this space to become part of the rear-oriented casual zone, where visual space flows together. The home also features a secluded home office that provides just the right setting for the computer. The exterior is designed to be low-maintenance, but the detailing and color palette help create a feeling of charm and comfort that typically would be found in a much older, historic residence.
