This custom home captures the views offered by its site in the foothills of the mountains near Scottsdale with an unusual plan that appears to rise and fall with the terrain. Living space spirals around a central courtyard that not only defines the entrance to the house but also creates a private garden protected from the punishment of the desert climate's sun and wind. The home features an unusual exterior façade finished with blue and mauve Ticonderoga stone, copper, stucco and rusted steel. The view from the foyer is directed out to the pool and spa. The master suite occupies its own end of the spiral plan, while a secondary master suite and guest room are located at the other. The lowest level of the house includes another guest suite, a wine cellar and a mechanical room.
