The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), to be held in New Orleans on April 18-21, will bring to the forefront a wide variety of opportunities for leadership and learning, beginning with the keynote address by Gary Vaynerchuk, a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author, as well as a self-trained wine and social media expert. Titled "The Thank You Economy," Vaynerchuk’s presentation will be held the first morning of KBIS 2013: Friday, April 19, from 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Held annually for the past 49 years, KBIS is the largest event in North America focused on the kitchen and bath segment, attracting more than 700 exhibitors. The 2013 edition is expected to attract more than 20,000 buyers and specifiers from more than 50 countries, as well as 300 members of the media. Attendees include dealers, designers, architects, remodelers, wholesalers, and custom builders.
The special opening keynote by Vaynerchuk is designed to inspire and empower kitchen and bath professionals to new opportunities for success in the current era of social media. According to Vaynerchuk, social media offers any size business the chance to succeed by reigniting old-fashioned customer-focused values. Vaynerchuk will illustrate how authenticity, originality, honesty and good intent--powered by the Internet and social media--are competitive advantages for small businesses.
In his speech and extended Q&A session, Vaynerchuk will make the connection to a world not seen since our grandparents' days, when business owners often knew their customers personally and gave them individual attention, literally out-caring and out-loving their competition. Vaynerchuk will speak from experience about how the new "Thank You Economy" can create enormous opportunities for kitchen and bath professionals, just as it did for his own family business.
About the speaker: Vaynerchuk’s first business book, “Crush It! Why Now Is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion,” hit the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Associated Press best-sellers lists in its first weeks after publication in October 2009. His second New York Times best seller, “The Thank You Economy” (March 2011), details the effect of social media on business.
