As the largest independent supplier of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment in the United States, YORK International understands that it has an obligation to use its leadership position to help build a stronger community. For that reason YORK Unitary Products Group is proud to sponsor Habitat for Humanity's building project at this year's International Builders' Show.

"YORK International supports worthwhile organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, as well as developing environmentally safe products for our customers," says Matt Peterson, vice president of sales and marketing. "We also recognize that our position as a global leader demands that we take the initiative in doing whatever is needed to improve the quality of life for this generation and those to come."

YORK IS DONATING ITS MOST ADVANCED AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM, the Stellar eco2, for use in the Habitat houses. The Stellar eco2 is the most environmentally friendly system on the market today. In addition to the use of 410a refrigerant, YORK has created a space-saving unit that is whisper-quiet and comes with super-durable paint that provides 1,750 hours of salt-spray corrosion protection, more than twice the industry standard of 750 hours. The use of copper/aluminum coils and permanently lubricated motor bearings also ensures years of easy maintenance and significantly reduced operating costs.

"We are excited to work with Habitat on this project," says Peterson. "It allows us another incredible opportunity to fulfill our company's purpose to provide comfort to people where they live, work and play."
