Garage Door System Sets New Standards for Safety

Available in a wide choice of styles, colors and window options, the high value Thermogard™ II insulated steel garage door from Wayne-Dalton offers an R-value of 10 and features the WayneGard™ pinch-resistant design and safety bottom brackets to help eliminate injuries. A TorqueMaster™ Counterbalance system contains spring forces inside a permanently lubricated steel torque tube. Power winding makes door adjustment safer and easier.

The DoorMaster™ garage door opener connects directly to the TorqueMaster™ spring tube. A microprocessor measures and "memorizes" the doors normal operating forces and safe path of operation. With this feature, the system is extremely sensitive to any force created by an obstruction in the path of the door.

"Door and opener," says David Osso, Corporate Marketing Manager, "are one integrated system. The opener monitors the operation of the door and makes its own adjustments. It eliminates the homeowner having to make adjustments. It eliminates the need for photoelectric sensors. And it eliminates potentially dangerous situations where, for example, the owner forgets to loosen spring force in the spring. As an added bonus, the design eliminates the bulky ceiling rail, making the garage look cleaner and less cluttered."

Because of these safety features, the Wayne-Dalton products were the first door and opener system to earn Underwriter Laboratories listing for the UL325 requirements.
