Fiberock sheathing with Aqua-Tough enables contractors to design and build EIFS assemblies using 24-inch on-center construction without compromising structural integrity, the company says. The 1/2-inch-thick sheathing panels, made from gypsum/cellulose fiber formulation, deliver wind loads up to 32 pounds per square foot before surpassing the accepted EIFS deflection standard of L/240 when installed 24-inches o.c. with fasteners attached 8 inches o.c. When fasteners are attached, 12 inches o.c. design wind load for the sheathing assembly is reduced to 31 psf before surpassing L/240 deflection.
