TimberStrand® laminated strand lumber (LSL) represents a technological breakthrough that allows Trus Joist to engineer high-performance structural composite beams that are stronger, straighter and truer than sawn lumber. TimberStrand LSL can span much longer distances and support heavier loads than sawn lumber or built-up beams.

TimberStrand LSL is a single-piece member that replaces the built-up marriage ridge beams of the past. TimberStrand LSL helps manufacturers save time and money by utilizing a single-piece, ready-to-install beam rather than spending time constructing an expensive built-up beam.

"We are very excited about having an opportunity to work with Genesis Homes on this project, and we're equally excited about the use of TimberStrand LSL in off-site construction applications," says Chad Carnes, factory-built group manager. "With the introduction of the new 1.7E grade of TimberStrand LSL, the factory-built market now has access to the most cost-effective engineered lumber product ever."

TimberStrand LSL 1.7E is available in a variety of depths to meet the needs of all roof types, spans and loads.
