Mr. Pietr Dziedzic is a senior at the Cracow University for Economics. He is interning this summer with Asdal Builders, llc and doing substantive work on the 2004 ModelreMODEL / Systems Engineering for the Energy Retrofits project. His current work is core research for a paper to be presented in October to the Forest Products Lab on the creation of a durability rating system for housing.
The original 1731 home in the basement takes shape as the final touches are added. This is the ultimate architectural sleuthing remodel: leaving each successive change intact.
The original stone home in the basement reflects it 1731 construction and a touch of the future -- the wide plank floors are stamped concrete.
The barn cupola stands out against a newly mown field of orchard grass.
Garage solar panels viewed from a 45-degree angle capture the sunlight. This array of panels produced about half of the cottage's electrical needs. The balance of the panels are on the home's roof.
