Roxul's Stone Wool Hits the U.S. Insulation Market

Both Roxul Safe'n'Sound, an acoustical insulation for interior walls, and Roxul ComfortBatt thermal insulation for exterior walls, are fire resistant, water repellant and made from stone

Recently made available in the U.S., Roxul’s Safe'n'Sound and Roxul ComfortBatt are made of stone wool, a combination of natural basalt rock and recycled slag, a mineral by product of smelted ore. The stone wool provides excellent thermal and acoustical insulation. Roxul stone wool insulation is non-combustible, water repellant, retains its shape (and R-value!) and can withstand temperatures up to 2150 F (1177 C).
