The Pinnacle Award represents the height of professionalism, recognizing Medina's contribution to the community and the industry. His work with Kyle Burt, a junior at Salina High School South, caught the attention of the Pinnacle judges. Medina teamed with Burt this past school year, letting him shadow him in his business. Click here for the full story of Medina's work with the high school. In addition to Burt, Medina has worked with two other high schoolers over the past several years. One of them is an interior architect in Germany; the other found that construction didn't interest him after all. Medina also works with the local Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
When I addressed the group gathered at Medina Construction, I told them that my passion as an editor is to find excellence and highlight it. Not only is Bill Medina a professional remodeler in terms of his profitable and sustainable business, but he also is involved in the industry and in his community.
The Pinnacle celebrates these aspects of professionalism. We looked for a remodeler who has made significant contributions to the industry or to his community. Then we looked at his business to make sure he was a professional. Bill Medina exemplifies all that we were looking for in a Pinnacle winner. Business-wise, there is no doubt that Bill runs a profitable, sustainable remodeling company. What stood out was his contributions. Although we recognized Medina's work with Kyle Burt and the high school, he's done much to benefit the industry, too. He represents all that is good about this industry.
Medina is a true professional, and we at Professional Remodeler were thrilled to present him as this year's Pinnacle Award winner.
