December 8, 2009

Rosemont, Ill. — In January 2010, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) will release The NRCA Roofing Manual: Architectural Metal Flashing, Condensation Control and Reroofing–2010. The manual will complete The NRCA Roofing Manual, which also includes The NRCA Roofing Manual: Membrane Roof Systems–2007; The NRCA Roofing Manual: Metal Panel and SPF Roof Systems–2008; and The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems–2009.
The NRCA Roofing Manual: Architectural Metal Flashing, Condensation Control and Reroofing–2010 contains information about the design, materials and installation techniques applicable to architectural sheet-metal components and provides background information regarding moisture issues in buildings, such as ventilation for steep-slope roof assemblies and condensation control for low-slope roof systems. Also addressed are considerations and guidelines for projects involving tearing off, re-cover and replacement of existing roof systems.
New and current NRCA members who have paid their 2010 membership dues will receive one complimentary copy of the manual; it is sent to the voting representative.
NRCA Construction Details on CD–2010 and The NRCA Roofing Manual CD–2010 also will be available in January. NRCA Construction Details on CD–2010 can be used with AutoCAD® software to customize plans for specific projects. It includes the construction details contained in all volumes of The NRCA Roofing Manual. The NRCA Roofing Manual CD–2010 contains all the information and construction details contained in the print versions of The NRCA Roofing Manual. It allows users to search the manuals' text by keyword or phrase, print any portion of the text or graphics, and import the text into a word processing program.
