NoteVault Launches New Service to Simplify Daily Field Reporting for Contractors
SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2009) - NoteVault, which provides voice-based mobile reporting solutions for the construction industry, today announced the commercial launch of a new service that greatly simplifies the hassle and inconvenience of daily construction reporting. In the process, the service helps contractors better protect themselves against potential lawsuits.
In a related announcement, NoteVault said that Constructech Magazine, a major industry publication, has named the new service, called NoteVault, one of its Top Products of the Year for 2009. NoteVault was chosen in the new products category from more than 100 entries overall.
The NoteVault service fills a huge void in the construction industry by enabling field workers to easily report project activity directly from the field using nothing but their mobile phone. Superintendents simply speak their notes into their mobile phone, which NoteVault converts to text and makes the report available through email or a web-based interface. NoteVault can also import data directly into project management software solution, including Prolog, Viewpoint, CMiC, and Primavera Contract Manager.
NoteVault's hosted solution saves contractors time and money by enabling staff to quickly and easily report from the field, without typing or collecting paper reports. It also gives management real-time project visibility, which can be invaluable in avoiding or prevailing on disputes, wrongful claims or damaging lawsuits.
"NoteVault has paid for itself within a short time and become an integral part of our project management and documentation within the field," said Thad Maynard, Sr. Project Manager for FrameMax, a San Diego-based innovator of steel framing for the construction industry.
Maynard said NoteVault allows FrameMax to:
- Record project activity throughout the day and provide what's relevant to general counsel
- Easily report on things such as weather conditions, daily production, labor force, assigned duties and tasks, job costing, and more
- Easily document any problems in the field, such as cranes not being operational and other delays, or injuries or accidents
- Keep management, administration and field staff on the same page regarding project status and forecast - especially helpful when projects are not centrally located to the corporate office
"With NoteVault, project information becomes a 'strategic asset' since the information is always up-to-date and available via the web to authorized team members," said Peter Lasensky, NoteVault CEO and a construction industry veteran. "Research shows nearly 50 percent of all construction projects involve some type of dispute. NoteVault fills the reporting gap for contractors and helps protect them against potentially damaging claims. We are pleased to bring this product to market, and extremely proud of our recognition from Constructech Magazine."
NoteVault currently has more than 30 contractor customers, including FrameMax, and FE Moran to name a few. NoteVault will be at Booth #303 at the AGC Constructor Expo in San Diego, March 4-7. For more information about NoteVault, please visit www.notevault.com.
