Kolbe & Kolbe

April 30, 2002

Craftsman Collection doors are handcrafted out of Douglas fir, knotty pine or knotty alder (pictured). Stiles made of core blocks are joined with an industrial finger-joint before placement between two edge strips and veneer facings. Electronic curing and waterproof glue create a bond that the company says is stronger than the wood. Stiles and rails are held together with 5/8-inch splined hardwood dowels.
