Johns Manville

In an effort to reduce concerns about indoor air quality, Johns Manville last year became the first and only manufacturer of fiber glass insulation to discontinue the use of formaldehyde as a binder for its full line of fiber glass insulation. JM Formaldehyde-free® instead features an innovative acrylic binder providing the same high-quality thermal and acoustical performance you've come to expect from Johns Manville, only without the formaldehyde. Because JM no longer uses formaldehyde as a binder, manufacturing plants are exempt from the Environmental Protection Agency's Hazardous Air Pollutant regulations under the Clean Air Act. In addition, since the introduction of JM Formaldehyde-free, more than 100 tons of hazardous pollutants are eliminated from the air each year.

All Johns Manville Formaldehyde-free fiber glass insulation contains an average of at least 25% recycled content and provides overall resource efficiency. Because of its high recycled content, JM Formaldehyde-free reduces landfill impact by 90,000 tons per year.

In addition to its standard unfaced and kraft-faced batts and rolls, the Johns Manville Formaldehyde-free fiber glass line includes an insulation for every installation, including:

ComfortTherm®

  • The industry's most complete line of encapsulated insulation
  • Reduces dust and itch, making installation faster, easier and more comfortable
  • Built-in poly-vapor retarder is twice as effective as conventional kraft paper
EasyFit®
  • The only line of perforated fiber glass insulation batts
  • Patented vertical perforation makes installation faster and easier, reducing time spent on measuring and cutting
  • Available in kraft-faced or unfaced
Climate Pro®
  • Offers all the thermal and acoustical benefits of fiber glass insulation but fits any size, shape, curve and cavity
  • Blow-in fiber glass insulation
