Aurora composite exterior doors combine the look and feel of hardwood entryways with patented Strata Technology. Each Aurora door is cast from a real wood mold, yielding a handcrafted, wood-grain appearance. Strata Technology, a permanent bonding process using multiple layers of resin, tints, base colors and reinforcing materials, is then used to create a skin that the company says is virtually impermeable. Next, the door is filled with a PolyMicro core, which provides the density and weight of real wood. Finally, the door is molded with the UltraCast process to enhance its real-wood look and feel. Warranty: lifetime on door and 10-year on finish. Supply: dealers. Contact: 800/ 468-3667, www.iwpdoors.com.
