In-House Training Valued By Many Successful Firms

New study focuses on high-profit architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms
June 18, 2009

Forty-three percent of high-profit architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms have in-house training staff, according to a study by ZweigWhite. The 2008-2009 Successful Firm Survey reports that only 36 percent of firms overall have in-house training staff. In addition, 52 percent of high-profit firms use an online training system or service. The survey defines a high-profit firm as a firm with an average annual profitability of 15 percent or more for the past three years.

“These firms view training as a leverage tool,” says Christine Brack, PMP and director of ZweigWhite’s in-house training services. “It's a strategic investment that builds a stronger, highly skilled team that functions more efficiently and performs on the expert level. The results of that training are the high profits these firms are experiencing.”

The 2008-2009 Successful Firm Survey of Architecture, Engineering, Planning & Environmental Consulting Firms combines data from 13 different management surveys into one and compares high-profit and fast-growth firms to the overall sample. To learn more, visit http://www.zweigwhite.com/zw-735.aspx.
