Construction Management Series

Essentials of Production Building

January 5, 2005

The Construction Management (CM) Series of workshops series is specifically designed for all personnel involved in the process of building, designing, purchasing, estimating and servicing production homes. These workshops apply to both experienced managers who need a refresher and new hires who need to be brought up to speed as quickly as possible. These workshops are an essential investment in your peoples' success.

CM Modules 1 & 2 focus entirely upon the ability to deliver units on time, complete, clean and free of defects. The superintendent's essential responsibility for the production and quality of their customers' biggest investment is framed within a balance of knowledge, skills and required attitudes, along with the essential roles of supporting personnel such as purchasing, estimating and administration. In the CM learning process, attendees will reference Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to help develop the attitudes required for both professional and personal effectiveness. These are not options - but rather, essential tools.

Module 3 emphasizes the manager (or manager-to-be)'s responsibility to ensure that their subordinates succeed. It requires that they become mentors on systems, procedures, professional & personal development of direct reports, as well as suppliers & trades. Managers will benefit most from this course by first attending CM Modules 1 & 2. Reception to these courses has been exceptional.
