July 9, 2009

TROUTVILLE, Va., (July 8, 2009) — LiteSteel Technologies America LLC has entered into a distribution agreement with Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution.

The agreement establishes Boise Cascade as a preferred distribution partner for the  LiteSteel beam (LSB), and is now supplying LSB to pro-dealers and lumberyards in the eastern United States. This gives builders and remodelers the opportunity to purchase LSB from their favorite pro-dealer/lumberyard.

LSB is now available to dealers through the following Boise Cascade locations:

• Portsmouth, N.H. — 800-962-9961. Territory coverage: Maine; New Hampshire.
• Westfield, Mass. — 877-462-6473. Territory coverage: Massachusetts; Vermont; Connecticut; Rhode Island; Long Island, N.Y.; eastern & western New York.
• Delanco, N.J. — 800-257-8459. Territory coverage: New Jersey; Metropolitan New York; eastern Pennsylvania.
• Annapolis Junction, Md. — 800-638-9830. Territory coverage: Maryland; Delaware; Washington, D.C.; southwest Pennsylvania; northern Virginia; southwest West Virginia.
• Greensboro, N.C. — 800-210-6049. Territory coverage: North Carolina; South Carolina; southern Virginia; eastern Tennessee.
• Wayne, Mich. — 800-295-6107. Territory coverage: Michigan, northwest Ohio; northeast Indiana.
• Marion, Ohio — 800-371-9615. Territory coverage: Ohio; western Pennsylvania; northern Kentucky; northwestern West Virginia; eastern Indiana.
• Auburn, Ga. — 800-241-9089. Territory coverage: Georgia; Alabama; western South Carolina; southern Tennessee.

In addition to providing service to the pro-dealers and lumberyards they serve, Boise Building Materials Distribution maintains design and engineering services at all its distribution centers. Boise also has a stand-alone dedicated commercial department to provide a complete engineering and service package to the commercial sector. Both companies will expand the product lines' distribution footprint, and will likely include additional Boise distribution centers.

LSB is a patented, cold-formed, light weight steel structural beam that combines the strength of steel but with the installation workability normally associated with wood products. Ideal applications include basement beams, long-span headers, garage beams, roof and ridge beams, floor and deck supports.

Builders can achieve significant, measurable reductions in systems cost, time and complexity by using LSB as beams in residential and light commercial construction, and remodeling applications.

Lightweight — LSB saves money by eliminating the need for a crane for installation by being on average 40 percent lighter than equivalent hot-rolled steel or engineered-wood beams.
Strength — LSB delivers equivalent structural performance in terms of load-carrying capacity when compared to hot-rolled steel or engineered wood.
Versatility — LSB can be cut on a job site with a circular saw and drilled, screwed, bolted and nailed using standard professional tools; it’s easily integrated with wood framing using standard connectors.

LSB is available in 12 different sizes ranging in nominal beam depth from eight to 14 inches.
