ASID and USGBC Debut New REGREEN Website

Washington, D.C. (Nov. 9, 2009) — The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announce new additions to the nation’s first green residential remodeling guidelines, which were made available at USGBC’s annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo held in Phoenix, Ariz., Nov. 11 – 13. With more than 100,000 downloads since its launch in March of 2008, the REGREEN guidelines now include three webinars, four online CEUs, a two-day workshop at Greenbuild, an updated website (www.regreenprogram.org) and a REGREEN certificate program.
“From its inception, the REGREEN program was designed to expand beyond the guidelines,” says Thom Banks, Hon. FASID, ASID Deputy Executive Director. “The capabilities of the website as well as the content of the educational offerings are exceptional, enriching the program and setting the direction for future REGREEN resources.”

The revamped website launches during the Greenbuild conference and will introduce a more user-friendly interface of the guidelines that better highlight the integrated design concepts that are at the core of REGREEN. This tool will also include additional case studies, which will be added to at a rate of about ten per year.
Another first for REGREEN, a two-day workshop on the guidelines will be offered at Greenbuild Residential Summit, an event that brings together leaders in the residential green building industry for two days of informational and educational sessions, networking and sharing of best practices. In addition, four new online REGREEN courses and three new webinars have been added to regreenprogram.org. Courses can be purchased by ASID and USGBC members for $39.99, and by non-members for $59.99 each.
