BULBRITE has announced the appointment of Cathy Choi to President and Andrew Choi, the former President, to Chairman. Ms. Choi previously served as Vice President and Mr. Choi was the Founder, President and CEO for the past 38 years. BULBRITE is a leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions and the premier educational resource for lamping technology."During her eight year tenure," explained Mr. Choi, "Cathy has demonstrated outstanding leadership by building our sales network, expanding our wide breadth of innovative products, and establishing our Dallas showroom to better serve our customers. She has positioned Bulbrite as the educational and manufacturing leader of light bulbs and lamps in a time when lamping technology has changed rapidly."
In her new position as President, Ms. Choi will oversee all operations of Bulbrite and coordinate sales, marketing, administrative, research and development, and manufacturing activities. Ms. Choi commented, "Now more than ever, the importance of quality, energy-efficient lighting is coming to the forefront with rapid changes in legislation. One common misconception is that energy-efficient lighting is only achieved with compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs. While CFLs are a good solution for certain environments, halogens and other 'traditional' light sources can provide an energy efficient alternative for certain applications. The emergence of LED technology continues to reshape our perception of the 'light bulb,' but currently LEDs are not able to fully replace all general service light bulbs from a price-performance perspective. This is why it is so important to be educated on the different types of light source solutions and to apply the right technology to the right application.
"We are committed to providing a wide breadth of innovative products, exceptional educational programs and outstanding service to our customers," continued Ms. Choi. "Our strategic initiatives are focused around The Bulbrite Promise-- our commitment to our customers’ success. Our dedication to education can be seen on our recently updated website, www.bulbrite.com, which features a learning center focusing on the basics of lamps, light sources and sustainable lamping solutions."
Ms. Choi served as National Sales Manager for Bulbrite when she started with the company eight years ago. Prior to joining Bulbrite, Ms. Choi was a Director of Finance and Operations for Independent Pictures, a division of New Line Cinema and an Auditor for Price Waterhouse.
She is an American Lighting Association (ALA)-certified Lighting Specialist, a member of the Education Foundation and Manufacturers Steering Committee for the ALA, a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and an active member of Cornell alumni associations.
Ms. Choi's educational experience includes graduating with an MBA from New York University and a BA from Cornell University.
